IMPORTANT STATEMENT FROM THE BOARD OF EDUCATION:
The Worcester County Board of Education remains committed to the safety and security of our students and staff. While we have already publicly addressed the recommendations and presentations by our law enforcement officials, we recognize that this continued public debate on school safety is not conducive to restoring the partnership between our entities, and it stands to further incite fear in our students.
To that end, the Board and Superintendent of Schools has extended an open invitation to the Worcester County Sheriff and Chief Deputy to meet with the Superintendent and Chief Safety and Academic Officer to discuss the execution of our Memorandum of Understanding and how we can best move forward for the betterment of our schools.

REMINDER: This school year, WCPS has adopted new safety protocols. Learn more about the protocols at https://www.worcesterk12.org/page/school-safety-protocols. #WeAreWorcester #SafetyMatters

Pocomoke Elementary School is now back to normal operations. The secure status has been lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Pocomoke Elementary School is currently in a SECURE safety status due to an industrial accident on Broad St. At this time, any students and staff that were outside of our building are being brought inside, and external doors will be locked. Classes will continue as usual. We will notify you as the SECURE status is lifted or if further instructions are warranted. We appreciate your understanding as we keep our students’ and staff’s safety our top priority.
