This week we recognized our wonderful assistant principal, Mrs. Chisholm and School Librarian, Ms. Wright. OCES is lucky to have the BEST assistant principal and media specialist in the world. Thank you for all you do! ❤️🌎⭐️📚

Last night, we celebrated our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Lisa Kristick. Mrs. Kristick's passion for teaching shines through each and every day! She is so much more than just a teacher; she is a mentor, an advocate for students, and a huge asset to our school! We love you, Mrs. Kristick! ❤️❤️❤️

In just one day, one of these amazing school-level Teachers of the Year will be named the 2024 Worcester County Teacher of the Year! Keep an eye on WCPS social media the evening of April 4, as we share the finalists and ultimately the winner as they are announced! #WCPSTOY2024

Worcester County Public Schools will open one-hour late today, Wednesday, April 3, due to foggy conditions. Buses will operate accordingly. All school programs will begin following the one-hour delay.

WOW! Our OCES family is a school full of kind and caring hearts! ❤️ Our two recent spirit days raised $459 for Down Syndrome Awareness and $587 for the Ronald McDonald House.

Meet Lisa Kristick, Ocean City Elementary School's Teacher of the Year, who we'll be celebrating at the annual Teacher of the Year Celebration on April 4.
Lisa Kristick earned a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University and a Master of Special Education and Master of Elementary Education from Wilmington University. In her sixth year at Ocean City Elementary School, she teaches Pre-K4 students. She believes inclusion of all learners regardless of ability teaches collaboration, empathy and increases academic success. Kristick nurtures an inclusive learning environment where disability need not be an obstacle to success. She shares her passion for early childhood by serving as a mentor at OCES, a member of the Maryland Blueprint Committee, and member of the Worcester County play-based cohort.

Happy Spring Break! 🐰🌸🐥

MCAP Testing is just around the corner and our 3rd and 4th grade students are feeling confident and ready to shine! Students enjoyed a Willy Wonka themed MCAP kick-off complete with Golden Tickets, Everlasting Gobstoppers and a surprise visit from Mr. Willy Wonka and his Oompa Loompas.

With spring around the corner, WCPS is releasing its updated current school year calendar that reflects an updated last day of school, given the single inclement weather closure this year. Please note, June 14 and 17 still appear as potential make-up days, but are unlikely to be used.
