Students in Ms. Foreman’s third grade class at Ocean City Elementary recently concluded a reading unit on “The Sea”. As a culminating task, students created Didactic Wall Panels, like those found in aquariums to provide information about the exhibits. Students had the opportunity to show off their artistic and paragraph writing skills to illustrate a shark and explain how scientists study them.

In honor of Veterans Day, first graders enjoyed a live zoom with Mrs. Coleman's cousin, Lieutenant Colonel Oles, a Marine Corps Veteran. Oles taught students all about his duties as a marine, including flying Osprey for three deployments. He is currently the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Operations Officer. Thank you Lieutenant Col. Oles for your service!

An EXTRA SPECIAL THANK YOU to our very own Mrs. Dettbarn for her service in the Navy! You and all Veterans are very much honored and very much appreciated for your service to our country! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Today, we honor and salute all of our veterans. Thank you for your dedication to our country. You are an inspiration to us all, and we will forever be in debt to you.

WCPS families, please note that due to a glitch with PowerSchool, some student report cards sent home today may have teacher comments with a question mark by mistake. Please ignore this extra punctuation. We appreciate your understanding.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hammond, Ms. Roberts, and the PreK team for earning $5,000 from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. We're so proud of you and can't wait to see how amazing the centers will be!

First grade students recently went on a field trip to Wright's Market in Mardela Springs. They learned about the life cycle of pumpkins and observed the various stages of this cycle. Students also learned about the family farm and the various crops grown there. The best part of their day was getting to pick their own pumpkins off the vines.
